We live in a culture of acceleration.

We decide faster. Build faster. React faster. Lead faster. Speed has become a measure of performance, and increasingly, an expectation.

But speed changes more than the speed at which we act. It changes how we think, what we notice, and what we risk leaving behind.

Inspired by Hermes, the wing-footed messenger, associated not only with speed, but with intelligence, judgement and the crossing of boundaries, Art of Decisions 2026: The Ethics of Speed explores one of the defining tensions of leadership today:

How fast can we go without outrunning our judgement?

For one evening at Artmark, Horia-Roman Patapievici and Virgil Stănescu will approach this question from two very different perspectives, through two lectures followed by a dialogue curated and moderated by Otilia Pețu.

The evening will continue with a surprise artistic moment and networking.

Perhaps wisdom begins with knowing what deserves our speed and what deserves our time.
